Managing the human component of disaster response and recovery efforts is without a question, challenging. When you add the demands associated with animals, it can greatly increase the complexity. That is why Noah's wish exists. We help emergency management agencies by managing the animals in their community during times of crisis. This allows officials to remain focused on the job they have to do, confident that the animal issues are being handled by experienced professionals. All Noah's Wish services are provided free of cost to the community.

People:

Noah's Wish has highly trained Coordinators and over 800 experienced Volunteers throughout the United States and Canada ready to offer their expertise and dedication to assist with all aspects of disaster recovery. They are leaders in managing animals during disasters.

What are the Strengths of Noah's Wish?

All our resources are directed towards disaster relief for animals.
Available 24/7. There is no maximum time Noah's Wish will remain mobilized, we base every response on the needs of the community and the animals.
Response time objectives are 12 hours for local resources and 24 for national.
Noah's Wish has adopted the National Incident Management System (NIMS) this allows us to work efficiently and effectively within established protocol. (Board resolution adopting NIMS)
Core ICS training requirements for our volunteers
2 Day In-Field Training program for our volunteers. Training simulates a disaster environment and prepares volunteers for the emotional and physical challenges of disaster response.
A well thought out exit strategy for the end of the disaster.

Noah's Wish Coordinators and trained Volunteers have experience in over 70 major disasters throughout the United States and Canada. Their combined knowledge and experience, specific to managing animals during disasters is unmatched.

These are but a few of the disasters responded to by Noah's Wish Coordinators and Volunteers.

Equipment and Supplies:

Noah's Wish is well prepared with an inventory of essential equipment and supplies necessary to rescue and care for animals during disasters. These include:

Four "Command" trailers

Two horse trailers

Five "First Response" trailers with the equipment and supplies needed for the first 72 hours

One "Intake" trailer

Two Flat Bed trailers

Along with needed supplies and equipment.

Partnerships:

Mitigation leads to more people and animals surviving disasters. When not mobilized, Noah's Wish is developing partnerships with emergency management agencies we could potentially be working with in future disasters. In addition, we have and will continue to develop partnerships with businesses and corporations able to provide services, equipment and supplies Noah's Wish will need. Each Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) we develop is tailored specifically to the needs of a disaster-stricken community.
