- Gift Cards - Gift cards to stores like Home Depot, K-Mart, Lowes, PetsMart, and Wal*Mart are used to purchase supplies that we need at each disaster
- Printing of disaster forms - Noah's Wish has a number of forms that we use everyday during disaster responses. Having these forms available is essential to field operations

- Offer to become an Animal Foster Home - if you live in the vicinity of the disaster area
- Volunteer at the disaster site - we utilize both trained and convergent (untrained) volunteers. However, please contact us first @ 916-939-9474
- Assist in the El Dorado Hills, CA office - if you live in the immediate area. Some duties require prior administrative training. Please contact us @ 916-939-9474 to inquire or go to Administrative Training. You may be able to help with such things as answering telephones, data input, filing, photocopying or running errands.

- Volunteer to help staff information and educational booths/tables to represent Noah's Wish at community events
- Volunteer to help give presentations/talks about Noah's Wish to groups
- Participate in regional outreach programs to help individuals, animal welfare organizations, communities and government agencies to be better prepared to respond to the needs of animals during disasters
- Be prepared for a disaster in advance by doing any or all of the following:
Learn human CPR and first aid
Learn animal CPR and first aid
Get some disaster training by taking the FEMA -ISP (independent study program) courses http://training.fema.gov/IS

- Locate and take the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training in your area http://www.citizencorps.gov/cert/
- Get your passport up to date - we mobilize in Canada too
- Obtain your tetanus shot - this is required by Noah's Wish for all volunteers and a booster is recommended every 5 years
- Consider getting the optional Hepatitis-A and/or Rabies pre-exposure vaccinations
- Sign up for and attend the annual volunteer in-field training. This is required by Noah's Wish on an annual basis. See Training
- Learn the proper handling techniques of animals - especially dogs, cats, rabbits and other small mammals, domestic birds and reptiles
- If you are a trained volunteer, make sure your own personal disaster supplies and equipment are purchased, packed and ready to go
